Our beloved Father, Venancio S. Hernandez, passed away on December 9th, 2021. With great sadness, he leaves behind his wife, Aida Barin Hernandez; children: Ronald and Sheila, Roland, Brian and Regina, and Phillip and Rowena; grandchildren: Evan and Emma, Keira, Cillian, and Kendall, and Sequoyah(d), Talon and Maple.

Benny, as he was fondly called, was born in Masantol, Pampanga, Philippines. In 1968 he immigrated to Chicago where he met his wife of 52 years. Benny lived a long prosperous life as an IDOT civil engineer and loyal father, husband, grandpa, and uncle.

Dad will always be remembered as the first ever foodie. You could never visit his home without being fed a delicious meal. He loved to share a meal where everyone was welcome to the table. Dad was a remarkable mathematician as well as a talented musician that could take any tune and crank it out on the ivory. Most of all, we will forever remember dad's fighter spirit and big strong heart. Despite his numerous health conditions, he fought for the family that he dearly loved, until the very end.
