Mabel Chmielewski passed away on April 10th 2021 at the age of 101 of natural causes. She was a long time resident of Chicago's East Lakeview Neighborhood, first settling there in 1943. During WWII she worked in a defense plant while her husband , Alexander (1913-1981) served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps in the European Theatre.

One of her many interests was sewing and she was known for  making intricate hand sewn quilts which she often gave as gifts to family and friends. She was a mother of 3 and is survived by her son.
