Obituary

Loren Larrimore, 40, of Chicago, passed away on January 2nd, 2022. He was born in Chicago to Robert Larrimore and Ellen McMinn Larrimore, who survive him. He is also survived by his beloved wife Sachiko, daughter Ellie, sisters Lindsey and Skyler, brother-in-law Felipe, his father's partner Liz, many uncles and cousins, and his dog Toto. Loren was predeceased by his half-brother Derek Ellis, and his grandmothers and grandfathers.

Loren was a loving husband, son, father, brother, and friend, who could light up any room with his quick wit and humor. Having lived blocks away from Wrigley Field as a child, he was a lifelong, die-hard Cubs fan. He lived in California for a few years, during which he met and fell in love with his wife Sachiko. They married in 2015 and, for years, served together as active Youth Division leaders and members with the Buddhist organization Soka Gakkai International.  There, Loren encouraged so many people on their quest for life purpose and joy. He was open and vulnerable about his own struggles, serving as a source of inspiration for others facing similar challenges.

Professionally, Loren spent 20 years working diligently alongside his father to grow and support their family cable company and its employees. In his free time, Loren loved House music, sci-fi movies, and alien tv-shows.

However, Loren's greatest source of joy and pride in life was his daughter, Ellie. He loved playing outside together in their backyard sprinkler, enjoying the beach in Michigan, and eating delicious Japanese food cooked by Sachiko. Loren's sharp intellect, drive to make others laugh, and quirkiness lives on in Ellie. His family will miss him dearly.

Loren's Visitation will be held 4pm-8pm (CST) on Tuesday, January 11th at Grien Funeral Directors, 2114 W Irving Park Rd. in Chicago, Illinois, 60618.
