Lillian Marie Green (Rudolph) was born to William Green and Marietta (Garnier) Green on December 5, 1920 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the first of four children. William Green Jr., Olivia Evans and Marion Camp.

Interested in becoming a nurse , Lillian went to enroll in Medical College of Virginia (MCV). At that time, southern law and social practice demanded separate facilities for "Colored" people, which led them to establish a separate school of nursing for "Colored" women to provide trained personnel for the St. Phillips Hospital. The school was named "St. Philip School of Nursing" where Lillian graduated in 1946.

Lillian married Johnnie Rudolph (who preceded her in death) and to this union, three children were given: Nina, Dianne and Karen. When Lillian moved to Chicago, she worked as a registered nurse at Cook County Hospital then later at Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, Illinois as a Head Nurse in the new born nursery for 35 years.

Lillian was called to rest on April 16,2019 at 7:30 am. She was a loving mother, loved to read, cook, collect recipes, valued education and shared her wisdom and knowledge with anyone who was willing to listen and you better believe it was right on point, she loved to help people. While she has gone to be with our Lord and his Angels, she leaves a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
