On Monday, April 6, 2020, Kenneth Joseph Cheverko (Ken), beloved father, son, brother and husband unexpectedly passed in his sleep due to complications of Covid at the age of 62 in Chicago, IL.
Ken, along with his twin brother Kevin, was born in New York on July 5, 1957 to Margaret and George Cheverko and was the second youngest of eight children. He spent his early years the Bronx, Long Island and Mahopac. Ken's dynamic career included management positions in the logistics industry in NY and NJ including Purolator Courier, Emery Worldwide, and Consolidated Freightways, as well as in Ohio, Tennessee and Indiana for SM+P, Culligan and Hinkley Springs.
Ken raised his family in Zionsville, Indiana and his son Kyle was his shining light, pride and joy. Ken was smart, charismatic and fun. He was an avid skier, cyclist, boater and golfer and enjoyed technology and computers. Some of his fondest memories with his son included building and working on computers, building decks and home improvements and their side-by-side work on Habit for Humanity projects. Ken lived in Chicago for the last 6 years where he worked as a program developer for the Haymarket Center and outreach programs where he thoroughly enjoyed helping others.
Ken is survived by his son, Kyle Cheverko, siblings Paul, Jean, Brian, Kevin, AnneMarie and their spouses, fifteen nieces and nephews and twenty-two great nieces and nephews. Ken was predeceased by his mother, Margaret, father George, and two siblings Barbara Garay-Cheverko and George (Jerry) Cheverko Jr.
