Obituary

Jolie Saverino was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary.
She survived the ordeals of World War II and the 1956 Hungarian Revolution by escaping to Austria then living in Germany.  Jolie was fluent in Hungarian, German and taught herself English.
In 1960 Jolie emigrated to America and settled in Highland Park, IL where she was later followed by her daughter, Ildiko from Hungary.  She worked in an upscale dress shop, and also showed her skill as a taylor.
In 1970 she moved to Chicago's Gold Coast area and worked in a gourmet shop at the Drake Hotel where she met the love of her life, Vince Saverino.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Hollywood, FL with many friends.
Jolie enjoyed collecting antiques, and her beautiful home reflected her talent in decorating.  She lived life with a passion, and hosted many dinner parties for family and friends with a great flourish.
She passed away on October 17, 2022 leaving her husband Vince, daughter Ildiko Bartolain, and her son-in-law Bruce Bartolain, two grandsons, Sean Bartolain (Victoria), Kyle Bartolain and a great granddaughter Lily Bartolain (Erin Fitzsimmons mother).
