Garrett FitzGerald beloved husband of Alicia (nee Johnson). Loving Father of
Bridget. Glorious son of Kathleen (nee Whalen) and Thomas FitzGerald. Fond
brother of Meghan Wiegold (nee FitzGerald). Nephew of many aunts and
uncles. Garrett worked as the Executive Director to the Northcenter Chamber of
Commerce while also serving as a Commissioner on the Illinois Civil Service
Commission. Garrett has served the residents of Northcenter and the 47th Ward
throughout his career. Garrett has worked at the neighborhood, civic and State
levels. Previous to working with the Northcenter Chamber, he worked for the
Chicago City Council for 47th ward Alderman Gene Schulter and the Cook
County Board of Commissioners for 12th District Commissioner Forrest Claypool.
He also has impressive volunteer involvement, having served as the 4th
Congressional District Representative on the Citizen's Utility Board, as well as
the Board Chairman at Neumann Family Service. A champion of
education, he served as an elected member of Bell Elementary School's Local
