Francisco "Frank" Anthony Canchola Jr., 69, of Chicago, passed away on
Thursday, July 14, 2022, at Ascension St. Francis Hospital in Evanston,
Illinois, after a long battle with health issues. He was born on June 30,
1953, in Chicago, Illinois.
Frank will be deeply missed by all those that had the pleasure of
knowing him. He is survived by his daughter Sonia De La Rosa; brother
John; and sisters Lupita (Annette), RosaLinda, Mary, Carolina (Ed), and
Martie (Robert). Frank leaves behind many cherish memories, a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Frank is predeceased by his
parents Victoria and Francisco; sister Victoria; and brother Roger.
Frank was known for his love of classic music. He held season tickets to
the opera which he enjoyed up until his recent illnesses. He was a
dedicated mentor to several children; Loredan, Grant, and Guinevere.
Frank left this world far too soon, but he left knowing that he was a
loving and faithful friend to many.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Grein
Funeral Home (2114 Irving Park Road, Chicago, IL). The family will
receive guests at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. A short
service will follow visitation hours, starting at 7 p.m. Interment will take
place on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery
(20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL) at 2:30 p.m.
