David F. Schwartz, 77, passed away on Sunday December 14, 2025 in Chicago, Illinois. David was the beloved son of the late Frank and Isabelle; loving brother of Lois (late James) Long; the late Frances (Donald) Smith; the late Carole (late David) Meneely and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

David went to Loyola University for his Bachelor's of Art degree and Master's of Art degree in Sociology.  He graduated with a Masters degree on June 14, 1975 as a member of the Alpha Sigma Nu, National Jesuit Honor Society. After graduation, David began to work with the Archdiocese of Chicago landing in the Central Administration Division.  He worked there for 30 plus years until his retirement.  He enjoyed his WTTW programming as well his NPR.  You can find him reading his numerous books and magazines at home, especially anything to do with history and politics.

Funeral will be on Monday, December 22, 2025.  Lying in-state from 9:30 am until the funeral mass that begins at 10:30 am at St. Benedict Church 2215 W Irving Park Rd with the entombment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleums at Belmont & Cumberland Ave, River Grove, IL 60171.
