C LaVerne Hickey
She was born in Chicago to an Irish father and a Brazilian mother on June 4th 1927 and passed on January 6th 2025
LaVerne was involved in the civil rights movement. She had a passion for social justice, nurtured by the Catholic Church.
She was also a strong advocate for workers rights, environmental justice and many other causes.
She ran a dancing school, along with her sister, teaching ballet, tap and ballroom.

She is survived by her sister Jean and many cousins

Visitation Friday January 17th 9:30 am till 11:15 am at Grein Funeral Directors 2114 W Irving Park Rd. 11:30 am Mass to follow at St. Benedict Church. Interment Private
