Avis Marie Johnson, 81 passed away in her sleep on August 13,2021

Avis was born on May 16, 1940 in Dubuque, IA to Margaret Lucille (nee Steil) and James Edward Johnson, the second of three daughters. She is survived by her son, Joseph (Heather) Johnson; grandchildren Caritta, Stephanie, Joseph Christopher, Tabitha (Nicholas) Mansanarez and Reilly; great grandchildren Noel, Joseph Michael and Brentley; dear sister of Carol Hjellming and Sheila Novak; fond aunt to many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Avis was a former Administrative Clerk at Adler's Foreign Books for 17 years before retirement in 2013. Her favorite past times were reading and spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Memorial service will be held on Saturday August 28th , 11:00 am at St Benedict Church 2215 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago 60618
